GMC released an all-new Sierra 1500 model for the 2019 model year. Now it is the heavy-duty version’s turn. A redesigned Sierra Heavy Duty debuts late this summer for the 2020 model year with impressive capabilities and features.
Most people choose a heavy-duty truck for towing purposes. The 2020 Sierra HD comes with best-in-class maximum towing at 35,500 pounds. It achieves this with its larger driver shaft, bigger rear axle, improved engine fan, and upgraded brakes.
The Sierra Heavy Duty will be available with the ProGrade™ Trailering System. This includes a variety of features including an In-Vehicle Trailering App and 15 unique camera views. One of the camera options is an industry-first transparent trailer view that enables you to “see through” your trailer for what’s behind.
Like the smaller Sierra 1500, the Sierra Heavy Duty will be available with a MultiPro™ Tailgate. This exclusive tailgate comes with six distinct functions, including folding down for a large step, flipping up for a flat work surface, and becoming a multi-level load stop.
