Enjoy These Holiday Road Trip Games with Your Family

The holiday season is upon us, which means many of us will be packing up our cars and taking the family on a road trip to see family and friends. If you will be entertaining little ones during one of these drives, consider playing a few of these fun holiday road trip games to pass the time.

Picnic Game

This memory game is fun for slightly older kids (perhaps kindergarten age and up). One person will say, “I’m going to a picnic and I’m bringing (something that begins with the letter A),” like “apples” or “apricots.” Then the next person must repeat the sentence, including the A item, and add on an item that begins with B. Keep it going until you get to Z, seeing if everyone can remember all the items!

Tunnel

This easy game is fun for small children. Challenge them to hold their breath through the entirety of a tunnel. If this proves to be too challenging, make it something else, like “make a silly face until we get through this tunnel.”

20 Questions

Relive this classic game with older children, preteen or older. One person thinks of a noun (proper or common, concrete or abstract), and everyone else works together to form 20 yes or no questions to determine what the person is thinking of.

Remember to schedule routine maintenance at Phil Moore Buick GMC near Jackson, MS before your road trip officially begins.

Have Some Spooky Fun with These Halloween Party Games

Halloween parties are great. Everyone gets to dress in costume, you can deck out your house to scare all your neighbors, and there is a seemingly endless supply of candy. But, to really make your party great, try some of these Halloween party games.

  • What Am I? Tape a Halloween-themed character or picture to each guests’ back or forehead without them seeing what it is. They have to talk to other guests to figure out who or what they are. However, they can only ask yes or no questions.
  • Apple Pass. Divide everyone into groups and have them stand in a line. Give each group an apple that they have to pass from person to person by holding the apple under their chin. The first group to finish wins. If they drop the apple, they have to start from the beginning.
  • What’s in the bowl? Fill a few bowls with different textured foods and cover them with a black cloth. Guests have to put their hands in and try to guess what it really is. Examples include cooked spaghetti (veins), peeled grapes (eyeballs), and cocktail sausages (severed fingers).
